I bought a copy of this, are you still working on it?

just meh

😊👍

Played your game in this special "Spooky Games" video that's dedicated to Silent Hill fan games.

I loved this a LOT... tried my best to figure out what to do next but I just couldn't. I wanted to go outside, but the door was locked... but alas this game was amazing!

Survival Horror для Русских пацанов!

I played through the demo and actually recorded my gameplay for my channel. While what you have here is simple at the moment, it is incredibly effective. The atmosphere and aesthetic are fantastic, and the story kept me hooked. I can't wait to see what comes out of this and how you further improve upon it. I did chuckle at the monster, but it did scare me a few times. I really enjoyed this, thank you!

Thank you so much for appreciating the game! Chapter 1 is on development, new and more improvements are being made! Check the devlog for more. Thanks :)

Thank you for making it! I can't wait to see what comes next. I saw the foggy city and that definitely got me excited for more spooks. I really like your improvements on the model, as well. Keep up the great work, my friend!

Love it... Starts at 8:43.

Want to start off by saying that I have never played Silent Hill, and that being said. This game makes me want to. Because honestly, this was a blast to play. The puzzles, the scares, the atmosphere, the music; all of it was REALLY well done. It's amazing what you've done with the game. (I made a good video down below if anyone's interested!)

So starting off, I just want to say that the haiku puzzle. I loved it. It's been a while since I've come across a good puzzle game which doesn't just have a 'get this and go here' puzzle. And I loved the way you used the haiku syllables and the crossed out one as a zero. Figuring it out was really fun and felt like I was actually smart for once. Though that was the only main puzzle, the rest of them were getting parts and keys together to get stuff from rooms,  which isn't so bad, but I guess you can't have five big puzzles; that might be super frustrating.

The other thing were the small jump scares. You did them really well and in times when the player thinks everything would be normal. Especially the chairs one; that almost gave me a heart attack. The one where the body was floating in front of the door, loved that too. Especially when you walk towards it and the camera transition makes it go away, it was really spooky and well thought through!

The atmosphere was absolutely amazing, the music and graphics really went together as a whole and even when nothing was happening, it gave this air of mystery and kept the player slightly on edge throughout the play through. I loved the dark undertone of the graphics, even though it was made to look like old graphics, it had this darkness to it that really shone through (ironically).

And there are not many things I would suggest to change. One big one was movement. I know you were going for a old Silent Hill type game. But even so, a little bit more easier movement would be better. The hold control to melee thing was not the best option, I don't think at least. It would slow down combat in the future and probably not the best for multiple enemies as you would be locked in place. I do understand you are trying to emulate the older games' vibe, but there's nothing wrong with having more modern controls and still getting the feel for those type of games! The comabt was interesting, but it was anti climactic because if I just stood in one place and whacked at the enemy, he died (as you can see in the video, was funny though!) and that wasn't hard, but would be hinder some in future updates when you add moving enemies and multiple enemies, so a different attack system would probably be better. (Maybe keep the pipe as a weapon class and you can attack others just by pressing the left click and no need to hold the control key?) And also the movement in general, it wasn't too bad. It definitely took time to get use to; but it wasn't the most easy to use while running around.

Also, adding a screen at the beginning where it tells you the controls or maybe a small Ui to indicate you have an inventory would be good. I didn't figure out that I had an inventory until towards the end.

Aside from those, I am looking forward to the story playing out (you set it up to play out I think, and saw the cross in the inventory, so that is definitely something that will eb used in the future, unless it's an Easter egg that I'm missing. and see more great puzzles because the haiku one was really well thought out. One fear I do have is that we will have to go through everything in this game again in the next update, so maybe have a save system where we can jsut drag and drop the save file from the old version to the new one? (I've seen this possible on visual novels, hence I'm suggesting it.)

But yeah, I'm really sorry for this long, long, long review. It was honestly a blast to play and didn't even notice the twenty minutes fly past. The game you've made is amazing and can't wait for more, And definitely would love to see a high-res version of the game when you have the time, people and budget to make one; it would be a really fun game to play. But other than that, keep doing what you're doing because it's honestly a really fun game and  good luck for your future projects!

Man, If there was just a pin comment here I would love to do it with yours. I've never got a well written, well explained, detailed feedback like this  before. It feels like I hired a quality assurance person to do me a favor. I truly appreciate a well thought feedback here and you took time to write everything. I will consider all your suggestions, I know there are still some things that needed to be improved and I will do my best to address them.

Thanks for praising the puzzle, not many people appreciate such puzzle nowadays. It was cool you liked it even though you haven't played any silent hill games, man their puzzles are awfully difficult for me atleast so I tried to mimic same thing here for the demo. Anyway, these difficult puzzles will not appear often in the game, as I see lots of people really struggle in such so I'll make easier but fun puzzle on the next build.

Yes there will be a save point in the game, that is definitely a must. I already started prototyping chapter 1 by the way and I'll be developing the save point system there. See you on the next chapter mate. Thank you for playing the game.

Your gameplay is not bad. I guess what people are really up for is a genuine reaction and commentary which I guess you did. Thanks for playing the game bro.

cool game but the whole "WASD" system sucks ass. It's a nightmare. I get you're going for that retro feel but damn, it's so unconfortable.

This was excellent!!! it reminded me a bit of silent hill from ps1, didn't have a great gaming experience like this in a while, i had trouble using the pipe, don't know if it's a glitch or that you're supposed to die at the end, either way i really enjoyed this (give my elaborate opinion at the end of the video)

thanks bro! I see you got really frustrated on the last part lol, yeah you have to be in 'stance mode' by holding right click or ctrl button then you can swing your weapon with left click or enter. thanks for playing the game!

(+1)

Hahahaha i was more so confused and not so much frustrated because the rest of the game was a joy, i think that i tried all of these options, there is a piece of the gameplay i cut out when i was trying all the buttons, it might be a glitch or something with my pc , either way the game was great and looking forward to the expansion and future projects!

Thsnks bro 😊

hello, I guess you posted on the wrong game page.

Wow! The gameplay and puzzles are awesome. You should improve on 3d controller it was difficult to move character. If you improve its awesome. The atmosphere and effect were also cool. Waiting for next parts and make gameplay for sure :)

Had a fun time playing this game because of the ps1 style and that it had a silent hill type of vibe to it. Keep up the good work!!!

Man I see there's something you've been going through, whatever it is. You're right, you need to think positive so you can act positively and get back to the right mindset. Many people are struggling with depression, I know it's not easy but you have to bear with yourself and fight it.

Continue doing what you love man, you have 1k subs and it takes a while and a good amount of effort to reach such numbers. That alone is an achievement man. Just make videos it will help you get out of the things that bothers you.

Anyway, Thank you for playing the game man!

Thanks man really appreciate it. I'll continue to stay positive and to keep on the hard work.

wow I enjoyed your walk through. I love how you figured out the lock puzzle, not many people think out of the box as you do. Indeed your brain will gonna get high after solving a difficult puzzle lol.

Man, I feel a little bit sad after you finished the demo lol, I really see you enjoyed it. Thank you so much for playing the game!

This game really really nails the silent hill vibe, almost perfectly, from sound design, to the aesthetics and even the game play. I love how the game progresses and puts you in for a scare. Silent hill being one of my favorite horror franchises, next to Resident Evil, this brings back fond memories so I highly recommend that you check out the game

lol what a fun playthrough, I'll share your video on my facebook dev page, thank you for playing the game you're awesome.

Just realised you replied! Loved the game, loved silent hill so this game me nostalgia, what is your facebook page?

Hey I really liked your game, its amazing I wished if there was more. As you know I am afraid of speaking while gaming and I know its bad for my channel so I mustered up some courage to  make my first commentary gameplay its not perfect but I did it.

Those who are watching my video please show me some support so that I can over come that shynnesss .

Hi! I really appreciate your English commentary on this one specially for non-native english speakers like me. Continue working on it man! Thanks for playing the game!
